A Day At School


*Please Note- The schedule may vary from center to center and from program to program

9:00 a.m.
Welcome time - Teacher greets the children with a Good Morning song followed by a morning prayer and the National Anthem. This is followed by discussing the day, date, attendance, thought for the day and the word for the day

9:15 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
Circle time – It is an interactive session for rapport building with the children – It could be a general or a specific interaction from how their weekend was to playing games relating to emotions and feelings, or about knowing friends, or personal details like address, etc. It ends with a brief discussion on the plan for the day

9:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.
Activity Centre – Here, one group plays with toys which develop their fine motor skills like manipulative beads, small blocks, sorters, etc, and the other is engaged in on the slate. Then the activities are exchanged

9:45 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Snacks break – Where children relish the breakfast for that day and spend some time interacting with each other

10:00 a.m. – 10:20 a.m.
Concept Time – Every month is a different concept which is related to the world around us. Through various teaching aids like Power point presentations, audio visuals, flash cards, art and craft activities, etc; children learn about the theme for that month. It ends with a recap session.

10:20 a.m. – 10:40 a.m.
Activity Book time – A book filled with interesting worksheets which include colouring, tracing, match the pairs, etc. Children simply love to do them.

10:40 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Reading& Writing Skills – This is where they learn their a, b, c s through various games, stories, books, etc and then do the related written work in their classwork books

11:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
Conversation Time – Time when children enjoy the sing a longs, rhymes, stories, or art and craft activities.

11:15 a.m. – 11:35 a.m.
Numerical Skills – Children develop their Numerical skills through various manipulative toys, puzzles, board games, stories, etc. and then write in their classwork books

11:35 a.m. – 11:50 a.m.
Reading Program –An intensive program to develop the child’s listening and reading skills through a set of books and their pictorial representation through power point presentations.

11:50 a.m. 12:05 p.m.
Hindi – Time to develop communication skills and reading skills in the Hindi Language

12:05 p.m. – 12:20 p.m.
Perceptual Motor Program and Science Experiments – Time for fun! This includes various organized and unorganized games for gross motor development of the children like Sand Play, Water Play, balancing games, ball games, etc. and also some science experiments relating to simple scientific concepts

12:20 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Dispersal Time – A short recap of the entire day followed by packing up their bags and finally a Prayer
